Bev and Scott's Wedding Page

Beverley Young and Scott Barker were married on Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 3:00pm at St. Mark's Anglican Church (1802 33 Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta). The reception was at the Southern Alberta Pioneers Association Memorial Building (3625 4 Street S.W., Calgary, Alberta) at 5:00pm.

The proofs from the professional photographer are now available, as are the honeymoon pictures and the engagement party pictures.

The pictures from the reception are now available, as are the pictures from the dance. There are more candid pictures, and if we ever get the time, we'll post those as well.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the following people for making our wedding day run so smoothly:

Bev's Wedding Party:
Sharon Young (Maid of Honour, sister of the Bride)
for coming all the way from North Bay, Ontario to be in the Bridal party, for keeping Bev calm all morning, and for her speech (which ran the gamut of emotions) at the reception.
Lisa Kaufman (cousin of the Bride)
for coming all the way from Mississauga, Ontario to be in the Bridal party.
Jen Pooley (friend of the Bride)
for overcoming her fear of flying and coming all the way from Welland, Ontario to be in the Bridal party.
Tara Engel (friend of the Bride)
for throwing a great stagette, for listening to Bev through the entire planning process, for her heartfelt speech at the reception, and for being in the Bridal party.

Scott's Wedding Party:
Rick Schuh (Best Man, friend of the Groom and Bride)
for taking care of almost all of the details for the entire day, several days beforehand, and several days afterwards (while moving!), for his short saga "Bev and Scott, How it All Began", for the awesome stag party, and for being in the wedding party.

for helping with the alcohol, for lifting Bev over the fence, and for being in the wedding party.
Trevor Wekel (friend of the Groom)
for picking up the wedding cake, and for being in the wedding party.
Rob Barker (brother of the Groom)
for making sure that the wine (and Scott's Mum) got to the reception hall, for that incredible (and hitherto unknown) display of dancing prowess, and for being in the wedding party.

for performing the ceremony and for delivering the blessing at dinner.

Jackie Barker (mother of the Groom)
for providing all the makeup for Bev's wedding party through her Merle Norman store in Sunridge Mall.
Richard Young (Father of the Bride)
for the toast to the Bride and Groom at the reception.

for making the wine, and to Ray for the impromptu (and appreciated) speech at the reception (and for dancing with Bev with those cool shades on!)
Therese and Joseph Chamoun (near-family to the Groom)
for making the meat, feta and spinach pies and the dessert cookies, and to Joseph for his beautiful speech at the reception.
Jean Kaufman (Aunt of the Bride)
for making Sharon's and Lisa's dresses.
Caroline Lesser (friend of the Bride and Groom)
for Scott's massage (shameless plug for CDL Massage Therapy), for delivering the flowers to all the right places, for running the reception table, for transporting the bags for the Bridal party, and for a large number of last-second arrangements we had forgotten to put on our lists.
Paul Chamoun (friend of the Groom)
for being such an excellent MC, for translating Joseph's speech so eloquently, and for co-ordinating with the DJ and caterer all night.
Idan Shoham (friend of the Groom) and Steve Osborne (virtual brother-in-law to the Bride)
for doing usher duty (not often you see these guys in suits!)

for a little something special and unexpected which happened at the reception.

All of the Out-of-town guests

And a special thank you for everyone who came to be part of our day, and to all those who couldn't make it, but sent their well-wishes instead!

P.S. We tried our best not to leave anyone out of the above thanks, but if you think we've missed anyone, please let us know so we can add them.
